HPCON Charlie indicates a severe disease threat and is in effect due to a local outbreak of disease, recent spread of such disease in a local area, and/or large area of ​​contamination requiring special containment procedures.

The Commando Welcome Center is the only new commando welcome center at Hurlburt Field. New arrivals are informed about programs, supports and services available on base from various agencies.

The official mail center is open Monday through Friday from 0900 to 1630 and is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays. Express and certified mail services are available, as well as mailboxes for rent.

There are several towns near Hurlburt Square including Fort Walton Beach, Ocean City and Wright. Many people who live in Hurlburt Field choose to live in Fort Walton because it offers many residential options, family-friendly attractions and a short commute to work.

Fort Walton Beach is a small city of over 20,000 residents near Hurlburt Square in the Florida Panhandle. It is famous for its white sand beaches, emerald waters and beautiful golf courses on neighboring Okaloosa Island. The city has family resorts and things like parks, museums and aquariums.
